The price of these flats have gone from $188 to $150 to $134 and now to $112 (with the 20% discount + tax). I'm hoping that these flats live up to my expectations! Otherwise, at least I can return them back to Endless.

Endless - Valentine's Day Sale Save 20% on $100 Order
I've been eyeing the Cole Haan Air Morgan Slipper Ballet Leopard Flats for about 2 months now. I wasn't willing to pay full price, and I just couldn't bare to purchase a less comfortable flat. So for the past couple of months, I just kept watching the price drop and the availability of my size diminish on Cole Haan, Zappos, and Endless. Finally, tonight while I was casually browsing Endless.com, I found the best deal that I think I could get for these flats before my size sells out.
Endless is having a quiet Valentine's Day Sale. I say quiet because I don't see the promotion advertised anywhere on their Facebook page or front page. odd. Maybe it will be advertised soon. The sale is only for a selected thousands of items, according to the terms. The extra 20% is taken off at checkout without a promo code.

Happy Birthday to My Husband!
My husband and I had lunch at the famous Peter Lugar Steak House to celebrate his birthday! The menu basically only has steak and potatoes. There were a couple non-steak options. I guess what can you expect from a famous steak place? My husband and I shared the Steak for Two. We were defeated and ended up taking some home.
I forgot my memory card, so I wasn't able to take some good photos of the neighborhood. I ended up taking my OOTD photo inside my apartment. I've become obsessed with wearing scarves. They serve the purpose of keeping me warm and looking a tad bit more stylish! The only downside is that my dangly earrings get tangled in them, and then I end up loosing the back of my earrings. I've already lost three! So I guess I have to stick to studs for awhile or remember to put the earrings back on when I'm inside.

J.Crew 40% off Final Sale
The good news is that you get 40% off on sale and factory merchandise when you use code OURTREAT. The bad news is that most of the items are considered final sale. Yikes!
The Disclaimer:
*No exchanges, no returns on items marked as final sale. Offer valid at jcrew.com and J.Crew retail stores only. Offer is not valid at J.Crew Factory stores. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards. 40% off discount applies to J.Crew sale and Factory sale online items only. Offer valid through Wednesday, January 25, 2012, 11:59pm ET. Savings are applied at checkout with code OURTREAT. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion. Limit one promotional code per order. Details of offer are subject to change.
For me, J.Crew is a little pricey, especially since I've never actually found anything that fits me well whenever I make purchases online. I've usually just stuck to buying accessories from J.Crew. So this time, I decided to take a risk after seeing all of the wonderful coat reviews for the J.Crew coats (here, here, and here) and after realizing that this may be lowest possible price this coat can go for before it is out of stock.

Snow to Ice
I left my hometown in the DC Metro area yesterday, and I was surprised to find that all of the snow fall from over the weekend in New York City had already melted last night! The "snow" in the DC area was basically ice. I'm dreading that we'll have a surprise super snowy winter. We still have 2 months left before Spring starts!

Happy Chinese New Year!
I went home again for the holidays! My family and I celebrated Chinese New Years by having a traditional Chinese New Years Eve meal.
My family dog dressed up for the occasion. She's also petite among her bichon family! My mom bought this dog outfit for her from China. My mom couldn't wait to put it on her for Chinese New Year.

Old Navy: 30% Off Today!
I have always been a fan of clothes from Old Navy. The quality of the clothes may not be the best, but Old Navy's clothes always survive better than my clothes from H&M and Forever 21. A few months ago, I decided to start shopping from Old Navy's Petite collection online. I found that I have to buy 1 size larger from the normal sizes. I'm normally a XS at Old Navy, but for its petite collection, I am a S Petite.
I took a chance and purchased a maxi sweater dress. I wasn't sure if the maxi dress would be too long, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that this dress fitted me perfectly! I didn't even need to wear heels to make the length work. I did break a couple Petite fashion rules....thick stripes and long length dress! I think the dress actually lengthens my body though. So overall, I'm happy with this purchase.
For some reason yellow is not a big color in my wardrobe, but I'm loving the new yellow trend.

Tops that I own
Chambray Shirt in Dark Blue Size SP
I wanted an alternative to the orange striped top from Style Mint . Unfortunately, the sizes offered at Style Mint are too large for me.
Tops That I Want
I'm missing animal print (outside of leopard) in my wardrobe. This could be a good option.
Dress that I Don't Recommended...
I tried on this dress in the store and was overwhelmed by the amount of fabric that was hanging off of me. As a result, the V-neck was very low. Not even a belt would save me from looking like a bag lady in this dress.
The Odd Slipper Soiree Launch Party
I attended The Odd Slipper Soiree last night, and had the opportunity to meet some other petite shoe wearers and to try on some shoes. I was definitely not used to going into a room full of short women. I was a little flabbergasted to find that I was one of the taller ladies in the room. Crazy! I bonded with my fellow petite shoe wearers, received lot of petite shoe shopping tips, and tried my first macaroon!
Some photos from The Odd Slipper's Facebook page:
The Odd Slipper just launched a few months ago. The company makes shoes between 3.5-5 or 215-230 (aka Korean shoe sizes according to another Petite), which can vary depending on the style. I was between a 225 & 230. The company has an interesting concept. Each week, new shoes are presented on the website for members to vote and comment on. Base on those feedback, the company decides which shoes to manufacture. The flats and heels are between $34-$150.
If the Shoe Doesn't Fit, Don't Buy It....
I tried on several pairs of shoes, but I didn't find anything that fit quite right. There were also a lot of women at the party, so my size sold out fast!
I tried on the size 4.5 (225) patent nude peep toe pumps with the hope of having them ready for the Spring. While just standing in the shoes, they seemed to fit. Unfortunately, while walking in the shoes, they slid off in the heel. The length and the toe box felt very tight, and the outside sole was uncomfortably hard.
These basic black pumps were more comfortable than the patent peep toe pumps. The shoes seem to have a 2.5 inch heel and the leather was quite soft. The only problem was that the toe area was very narrow. It felt more narrow than the boots I wore, and those boots look pointier.
I was tempted to purchase another pair of casual looking boot heels. These boots were actually at a comfortable height, despite the 4 1/4 inch stiletto heel. The extra platform really helped with the heel comfort. The only problem was that my big toe felt like it was bulging out. All of the other toes felt fine thought. Very weird. Anyways, I'm not sure if I would have been willing to spend $180 on these boots, even if they did fit. I think I would rather splurge on a more sophisticated/casual pair of ankle boots, such as these booties.
If you're interested in trying on the shoes from The Odd Slipper, you can visit the pop up store, The Little Shoe Store, in the East Village. It is open on most weekends. Definitely, check out the website before visiting the store to make sure the store is open.

It's Freezing!
It's starting to get really chilly and windy these days. It even flurried a bit yesterday. It is definitely winter. My husband and I spent our Saturday running errands, and I managed to take some pictures on the rooftop before the sun went down.
At first I thought I could just pull off an open coat photo, but then I realized that I could barely see my outfit with the coat on. So I went full blown and took it off! You know you're a blogger when you actually take your winter coat off in the freezing and windy weather.

Yes, my husband caught a picture of me racing back for my coat. LOL
P.S I love my Theory coat, by the way. It's the perfect fit in terms of arm and body length. I don't care that it is super puffy as long as it keeps me warm! I might try wearing it with a belt. However, I think the belt might be annoying to take off and on.

Jason Wu for Target Collection
I haven't really experienced the hype for the designer collaborations with retailers (i.e. Missoni for Target and Versace for H&M). However, after seeing the Jason Wu for Target collection on Refinery 29 today, I may be one of the crazy ones going to Target at the crack of dawn on February 5th, when it launches. Who wants to come with me?!

New Yorker

| View from my apartment |
After two hours at the Department of Motor Vehicles, I became an officially New Yorker. I've been in New York for about a week. I love my apartment! Too bad it is still in shambles. I think my husband and I have way too many random things and clothes for this tiny apartment. I will have to be a smarter shopper and/or a more generous donator.

Petite Fashion Challenge #12: From Night to Day
Khatu is hosting the 12th Petite Fashion Challenge, and this is my first attempt at participating in the Petite Fashion Challenge. Honestly, this challenge was definitely a tough one for me to brainstorm, especially since I was living out of a suitcase for the past 2 months. I arrived to my new apartment in New York City on Friday, but I still have not had the time to unpack and organize since I am lacking furniture and space. I was able to rummage through the coat closet, suitcase, and the bedroom closet to style my two outfits.
Night
I glammed up a BCBG dress by adding a statement necklace and earrings.

Shoe Review: Payless Brash Pumps
I used to be a huge fan of Payless, mainly because their size 5 shoes usually fitted me so well. However, its been almost 5 years, about the time when Lela Rose started designing shoes for the Payless, since I've purchased a pair of shoes from there. I've learned to invest more money in my shoes, but I'm still open to going back to Payless, if the shoes fits. =)
A couple of weeks ago, I decided to give Payless another chance, thanks to a Facebook posted from Extra Petite about a 40% discount code. I decided to purchase the Brash Komet Platform Pump in Black and the Brash Konstant Block Heel Pump in Gray.
The Brash pumps have been all over the blogsphere. Check them out on Kendi Everyday, What I Wore, and Extra Petite. They definitely looked super cute and comfortable because of the platform (everyone's wearing them, so they must be comfortable?). However, I was totally wrong. I could barely walk in these heels, and I must have almost fallen over four times trying to take these pictures, no joke. Can you tell that I am holding on for dear life and struggling to sit comfortably in these pictures? Other than being too high, the heels also felt like there wasn't enough room in the toe bed, even though the length was fine.
Verdict: Return
I ended up returning these shoes to the nearest Payless store.
Final Lesson learned: I'm just not cut out for 5 inch heels, even if there is a 1.5 inch platform "for comfort".

A New Year
My husband and I officially moved to New York on Friday, and we are looking forward to a new year back in the States in a new city! Before settling down, we decided to spent the New Year weekend visiting my family since we were unable to spend time with them over Christmas. I had the opportunity to enjoy the brisk cold weather and wear one of my first winter outfits! Hurray! The weather has actually been beautifully cool, but I hear that there will be a cold front coming soon...
