Here's what I learned from my sample sale experts":
1.) Have an idea of what you want and know how much it costs full price.
Of course, this is easier to do with handbags than with clothes. I was in the market for a quilted handbag with chain straps and wanted something a little different/edgy. I purchased the Swing handbag earlier in the year, but I returned it because it was way too heavy, so this time I considered getting a Mac Clutch. I also considered the Mab Mini, until one sample sale expert mentioned that I couldn't cross it over my body. That was a deal break for me! I love crossbody bags and am so glad that it is the trend these days.

2.) Check the quality of the product before purchasing.
- Make sure the zippers work- Check for any stains or scratches
- Make sure the strap is intact
3.) Make sure it has the extras
- tassel, keyring, strap, dust bag...etc. If it doesn't have the extras, then grab one from another purse!4.) Decide if the line and the crazyness is worth the discount.
We waited in line for about 30 minutes to get into the sample sale and once we got in, it was chaotic! Handbags were just laid on multiple tables in a big mess. Girls carried multiple bags on their arms and had bags within bags! There was barely any room to walk and I had to act fast if I found a cute purse. I think I shopped around for almost an hour digging through the piles of handbags.
My Final Decision
I found a gray quilted Mini Clutch and ended up waiting in line for 1 hour to pay for it. It was my first sample sale, and I convinced myself that the discount and time was well worth it. However, if had already owned a Rebecca Minkoff purse, I don't think I would have purchased another one in the chaos.Overall though, I am happy with my purchasem and it has become one of my staple handbags. It actually fits everything I need (small wallet, glasses, keys, my mini pharmacy, & mini umbrella) except maybe a bottle of water for the hot summer strolls.
The strap can be shortened for a one shoulder look or lengthened for a crossbody look!

I've gone to one sample sale before and I think it scarred me for life! :) Those girls can be vicious. Anyway, love that purse that you scored!

To answer your question about my 4th of July dress, I did the filming over the course of a weekend. The sewing part doesn't take too long, but setting up the camera did, ha!
